Roosevelt in Christiania, the Norwegian capital now called Oslo, shows the former president riding in a carriage during his travels in Europe. The record gives no date, and its title comes from Bain News Service caption cards that have not been verified. Roosevelt made that Norway visit in spring 1910, after leaving the White House, when he gave his Nobel Peace Prize lecture in the city. Bain's wire-service photographers covered such visits for the newspapers of the day, so the picture offers a glimpse of a prominent foreign tour.
