A diver poised over the water gives this poster its focus, and the title, "Sunshine and surf," spells out the promise of a coastal holiday. The Australian National Travel Association, formed in 1929 to attract visitors to the country, issued the work, which was printed in Melbourne by Troedel & Cooper as a color lithograph. Designed by Sellheim, it dates to about 1930, a period when travel posters were used to sell both the scenery and the healthy outdoor life of the beaches.
