This 1922 poster advertises *The Seventh Day*, a silent film starring Richard Barthelmess, who was one of the most popular leading men of the early 1920s. The print is a single sheet, and its lettering and imagery were designed to pull in moviegoers on a city street or in a theater lobby. Barthelmess had already gained wide attention with dramatic roles such as *Tol'able David* (1921), and posters like this one show how studios marketed their stars before sound arrived. Without a record of the film's full credits, the poster is best read as a window onto how silent-era films were sold to the public.
