Few places in Victoria's hill country had a stronger reputation for towering timber in the 1930s than Marysville, and this lithograph makes the claim outright with its title, which promises the tallest trees in the British Empire. Those trees are mountain ash, *Eucalyptus regnans*, whose straight trunks often exceed 90 meters and rank among the tallest flowering plants on earth. The poster was issued by the Australian National Travel Association, a body set up to draw visitors to the country's scenery, and the horseback rider among the forest shows how the bush was pitched to travelers as a place for leisure. The title credits the design to Trompf.
