In this Sunday page from March 14, 1937, Cliff Sterrett shows Pa stepping out of the house into a strong wind, with the gusts tugging at his hat and clothes. The comic is one of many episodes in *Polly and Her Pals*, the long-running strip that Sterrett drew for the Hearst newspapers from 1912 onward. Its slapstick and its henpecked Pa made it a favorite with readers. Sterrett's bold color and flat, stylized figures are worth noticing, since they show the strip's distinct look during the 1930s.
