Glebe's was a market in Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania, and this print puts its apples at the center of the scene. The town sits where the Delaware River cuts through the Kittatinny Ridge, a gap that drew summer visitors, hikers and motorists throughout the early twentieth century. Roadside markets like this one served travelers passing through the Poconos, and fruit was one of the region's most visible products. The print belongs to the Wittemann Collection, which preserves photographs of this period.
