A Dutch exhibition poster for Frank Lloyd Wright, printed in Amsterdam in 1931, stands apart from the other Wright material on this board because it was made for a European audience. Its chromolithographic color reflects the bold, flat graphic style that Dutch designers favored for exhibition posters in the early 1930s. Wright was then in his mid-sixties, and his work was known in Europe mainly through publications, so an exhibition of his architecture drew attention to American design at a time when European modernism was attracting wide interest. The poster was printed by the Enschede firm, a prominent Dutch printing house of the period.
