The record names only "Sir R.S. Horne," and the Bain News Service's own title is unverified, with no date given. The name most likely refers to Sir Robert Horne, the Scottish lawyer and Conservative politician who served as Chancellor of the Exchequer in Britain from 1921 to 1922. Bain's New York studio supplied portraits of visiting and prominent figures to newspapers and magazines, so this negative would have been made as a press image. Because the date and occasion are unknown, the identification should be treated as a lead to verify rather than a settled fact.
