This 1899 color lithograph advertises Julia Arthur in *More Than Queen*, a play adapted from the French of Émile Bergerat by Charles Frederic Nirdlinger and Charles Henry Meltzer. Strobridge Litho Company of Cincinnati and New York printed it, and the firm was among the leading American makers of theater posters in that period. Arthur, a Canadian-born actress, was then a prominent figure on the American stage, and the poster reflects the bold color and large lettering that touring productions used to draw attention on city streets.
