I'll go too!" is the caption that gives this poster its point, turning the title's "real Irish spirit" into a direct call to enlist. Printed in color by M'Caw, Stevenson & Orr of Dublin and Belfast for the Central Council for the Organization of Recruiting in Ireland in 1915, it reflects a period when British military recruiters depended heavily on Irish volunteers. Shamrocks and soldiers, two of its recorded subjects, were common emblems in such appeals, linking recruitment to local identity as well as to the war effort.
