Here the comedian George Sidney, billed as "Funny Geo.," appears in character as "Busy Izzy," a stage role that the poster puts at the center of its bold lettering. This 1902 color lithograph was produced by the U.S. Lithograph Co. and the Russell-Morgan Print Co. for the management of E. D. Stair. Posters like this one were the main way touring theatrical companies advertised their performers to audiences in American cities and towns during the early 1900s. Sidney, born in 1877, went on to a long career in stage and film comedy.
