A railway junction in Mexico, where several lines met and trains were switched onward, is the subject of this glass negative. It came from the National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., firm that sold travel views, and its record dates it only to between 1909 and 1920. Those years fall largely within the Mexican Revolution, when rail lines carried troops and freight and were often damaged in fighting. Faint streaks and blemishes from the aging coating are visible across the plate.
