Few posters on this board were aimed so directly at British donors. This lithograph asks for gifts to the Belgian Red Cross and directs contributions to the Lord Mayor of London, with the Belgian committee's president also listed. Printed in London in 1915, it was designed by Charles Buchel, a Belgian artist working in Britain during the war. By then Germany had occupied most of Belgium, and relief groups were caring for wounded soldiers and displaced civilians, which is the need the poster was built to address.
