The title names a house on P Street belonging to Mrs. E.T. Goodman, a residence whose appearance is captured on this glass negative, dated to roughly 1918 to 1928. P Street crosses the northwest quadrant of Washington, and in the early twentieth century its older homes stood alongside newer construction as the city expanded outward from its center. The National Photo Company, which made the negative, recorded the capital's streets and buildings during these years and left a large body of views of the city. The owner's name comes from unverified data supplied by the company, so it is worth confirming, and faint streaks on the glass reflect the natural decay of its original coating.
