The title on this glass negative names Lindbergh, most likely Charles Lindbergh, though the National Photo Company's label is unverified and the record does not confirm who is pictured. If the name is right, the date range fits the period after his solo flight across the Atlantic in May 1927, when his face filled newspapers nationwide. The National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., firm, produced large numbers of news and portrait negatives in these years for publication. Streaks and blemishes on the glass are typical of coating deterioration in plates of this age.
