This view shows the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad's bridge over the Schuylkill River near Tuckerton, in Berks County, Pennsylvania. John J. Strickland, a photographer based in Reading, made the print, and its caption card dates it to about June 1908, though the library flags that data as unverified. The Reading ran a dense network of lines through the coal and iron country of eastern Pennsylvania, and river crossings like this one carried freight that linked the region's mines and mills to Philadelphia and beyond.
