Gardiner, Montana, sat at the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park, so its depot served visitors bound for the park in the early 1900s. The record credits the station to the Union Pacific Railway, but it marks that attribution as unverified, so the operating line is worth confirming. The Detroit Publishing Company issued the view around 1905, selling scenic photographs to travelers and rail promoters. Wagons noted on the caption card suggest that horse-drawn transport still met passengers and freight at the depot.
