Two names, Daugherty and Beverly Moffet, appear on this glass negative, which the National Photo Company dated November 9, 1922. The catalog notes that this title and date come from information written on the negative or its sleeve and have not been verified. The Washington firm produced a large body of news and portrait photography in the early twentieth century, and its glass plates now serve as a record of the people it photographed. Viewers should also notice the streaks and blemishes across the plate, which result from natural deterioration of the original coating.
