This poster advertises Blanche Berndt Mehaffey, a soprano, in a large color lithograph dated 1907. The Courier Company of Buffalo produced and copyrighted it that year under its number 5590, and the record also links the name Thomas Henry Atwell (1834-1904) to the piece. Concert and recital posters of this period were built to draw attention from the street, with bold color and large lettering announcing the performer. Such printed material shows how touring singers were promoted to local audiences before radio and recordings made their voices widely known.
