This panoramic view records the seventh and deciding game of the 1909 World Series, played on October 11 at Bennett Park, the Detroit Tigers' home ballpark. The Pittsburgh Pirates won that game 8-0 to take the series, four games to three. The long, narrow format, roughly 10 by 49 inches, lets the viewer take in the ballpark and the crowd filling its stands on a single sheet. The print was registered for copyright in 1914 by a Detroit engraving firm, so it was made as a commercial souvenir of the event.
