Made on September 28, 1912, this glass negative is the first section of a panoramic view of Boston's ball grounds, and the record ties the scene to Fenway Park, which had opened that April as home of the Red Sox. The picture came from the Bain News Service, a photo agency that sent photographers out to cover city news and events for newspapers. Its title comes from data the agency recorded and has not been independently verified, so the exact order and extent of the panorama are worth noting before drawing conclusions from it.
