The title points to an Army service poster from 1918, a late-war recruiting and morale piece that gathered several panels, including one labeled "The Joy Squad." Posters of this kind were built to show soldiers' daily life in a favorable light, with cheerful scenes meant to reassure families and encourage enlistment or steady support at home. The multi-panel layout let designers tell a short story across the sheet rather than relying on a single slogan. Worth noticing is how the imagery balances the hardships of the Great War with an upbeat picture of camp life and service.
