Little is recorded about which street this is, since Library staff devised the title, so the scene has to be read from its surroundings. It belongs to the National Photo Company Collection, whose photographers worked across Washington in the 1910s, making views later sold as postcards and souvenir prints. The 8 by 6 inch glass plate was a gift from Herbert A. French in 1947, and its streaks and blemishes come from natural decay in the original coating, a common condition in glass negatives of this age.
