The Traymore Hotel, one of Atlantic City's large oceanfront hotels, anchors this 1932 poster, which sells the resort as the "playground of the world" and presents the train as the way to get there. It was printed by the Latham Litho. & Ptg. Co. of Long Island City, New York, a commercial lithography firm that produced many travel and advertising posters in this period. The crowds on the sand and along the boardwalk show the seaside leisure the railroads hoped to sell during the Depression. Posters like this one were a common way for rail carriers to promote excursions to shore resorts between the wars.
