Printed for the City of London Territorial Force Association, this lithograph directs men to a recruiting office at The Armoury on Tufton Street in Westminster and promises uniforms and necessaries on the day of enlistment. The 2nd City of London Battalion was one of several battalions of the Royal Fusiliers raised in the capital after the war began in 1914, when volunteer units were built up under Lord Kitchener's call for men. Posters like this one, dated 1915, appealed to civic pride and to the pay and allowances that army service offered, and they were displayed across London as the New Army expanded.
