This 8 by 10 inch glass negative, dated July 5, 1890, is titled *Sasqua*, and the catalogers tentatively place it at the New Rochelle Yacht Club, on the Long Island Sound shore of New York. That link rests on the style of the title and the numbering on the negative rather than a signed credit, so the exact subject should be read with some caution. The plate belongs to the Detroit Publishing Company collection, a commercial firm known for its wide range of American views from the late 1800s and early 1900s. It reached the Library of Congress as a 1949 gift from the State Historical Society of Colorado.
