The poster's headline, "Send more men," makes its purpose plain, and its subject headings point to communications equipment and the soldiers who handled it. Toronto's Central Recruiting Committee, No. 2 Military Division, issued this color lithograph in 1915, when Canada was relying on volunteers for the Canadian Expeditionary Force. Recruiting posters like this one were meant to keep men enlisting before conscription came in 1917. Stone Ltd. printed the sheet, and its direct appeal to duty shows how wartime recruiters addressed men at home.
