A long, narrow strip measuring 14 by 78 centimeters, this poster is an unusually elongated format for a British recruiting bill of its day. It was issued by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee in London and printed in color lithography by Chorley & Pickersgill of Leeds and London, and it is catalogued as poster number 64A. In 1915, before conscription was introduced in early 1916, the committee produced many posters like it to encourage men to enlist voluntarily. The catalog subjects note flags, a common patriotic motif in wartime recruiting art.
