Auguste Rodin's sculpture *The Thinker* anchors this 1940 silkscreen poster, which urges viewers to make the library a habit: "For greater knowledge on more subjects use your library often." V. Donaghue designed it under the Federal Art Project of the Work Projects Administration, whose poster division produced public-information posters for civic services during the Depression. The subject tags point to libraries in Illinois in the 1930s, so it likely promoted a local library system. Rodin first modeled the figure as part of his *Gates of Hell*, and pairing it with a call to self-education gives the poster its particular interest.
