Joseph Cotten, Trevor Howard and Alida Valli head the cast named on this color poster, which dates to about 1949, the year *The Third Man* was released. Carol Reed's film follows a pulp novelist, played by Cotten, who arrives in divided postwar Vienna to find his friend Harry Lime dead and the city's occupying powers watching closely. Shot largely on location in the bombed-out city, the film is remembered for its shadowy look and Anton Karas's zither score, which became a popular hit record.
