Two dancers, Ambrosini and Annetta Pelucchi, are named in the caption for this glass negative of the Chicago Opera's ballet company. The Bain News Service, a New York picture agency that distributed news and feature photographs in the early twentieth century, recorded the title, though its names are unverified. Ballet was part of the company's productions in that period, so the picture shows performers working within a major American opera house. Its large format on glass preserves costume and posture in fine detail.
