A drawbridge in Tokyo is the particular subject here, and the record places it in the decades from 1850 to 1900, when the city was becoming more open to foreign travelers and residents. The catalog also tags the scene with foreign visitors, which suggests the drawing records outsiders encountering a busy point of passage. The attribution to Isoda Koryūsai, who the record says was active from 1764 to 1788, does not match the 1750 date also given, so the dating should be treated as uncertain.
