This 1916 color lithograph advertises a *vente de guerre*, a wartime charity sale staged by the French Red Cross and the Union des Femmes de France to raise money for the war effort. Its subject headings point to flags, so the tricolor carries much of the appeal, linking the sale to national duty. The poster is signed by Géo Dorival, who worked in collaboration with G. Capon, and it appears as item 197 in a printed checklist of French posters of the period. Its large format, at about 120 by 79 centimeters, suggests it was designed to be seen from a distance on a public wall.
