Dated August 11, 1926, this glass negative shows a scene at the Lincoln Memorial, where its title lists the subjects as T.C.5 and T.C.9, a label the National Photo Company wrote on the negative that remains unverified. The Washington, D.C., firm documented the capital's monuments and streets for visitors, and the memorial, dedicated in 1922, was then a fresh landmark. Herbert A. French gave the plate to the Library of Congress in 1947, and its surface shows streaks from the natural breakdown of the original coating.
