Glacier National Park, in northwestern Montana along the Canadian border, was established in 1910, so this glass negative falls in the years just after its creation, when the park was new and promoted heavily to tourists. The National Photo Company, which made and sold views of American scenery and landmarks in that era, produced many such images for travelers and publications. The record's title comes from the company's own labeling and has not been independently verified, and the glass shows streaks and blemishes from the breakdown of its original coating, a common condition in plates of this age.
