Euclid Avenue was one of Cleveland's most fashionable boulevards, and the Euclid Club was one of the social institutions along it. The record also lists automobiles among the subjects, a sign of how quickly the motorcar was becoming a marker of wealth and modern taste in the years around 1900 to 1910. The 8 by 10 inch glass negative comes from the Detroit Publishing Company, which photographed American cities, resorts, and landmarks for commercial sale from the 1890s into the 1920s. The plate was later given to the State Historical Society of Colorado in 1949.
