The Lincoln Building at 42nd Street and Madison Avenue was one of the tall office towers that went up around Grand Central Terminal during New York's late-1920s building boom. Its location at the edge of the terminal district put it among the most visible new skyscrapers in Midtown. This c1930 photoprint comes from the studio of Irving Underhill, a New York commercial photographer whose views of the city's new buildings were sold to publishers and the public. The caption information for this picture is unverified, so the exact date and vantage point should be treated with some caution.
