Identified in the record as Wm. J. Graham of Illinois, this glass negative is dated November 24, 1923, and the title comes from data the National Photo Company wrote on the negative or its sleeve, which has not been independently verified. The company, based in Washington, D.C., produced a large body of work in the early twentieth century that documented people and events in and around the capital. Glass negatives of this era often show streaks and blemishes as their original coatings deteriorate, and those marks are visible here. Herbert A. French donated the negative in 1947.
