Three glass negatives join into one wide view of Mount Fox and Mount Dawson, seen from Asulkan Pass in British Columbia's Selkirk Mountains. The Detroit Publishing Company, which sold travel and scenic views, issued many pictures of Canadian mountain country for tourists riding the transcontinental railways, and its catalog places this set between 1901 and 1906. Mount Dawson takes its name from the geologist George Mercer Dawson, who worked in the region. The left negative is a copy, and the set reached the library as a 1949 gift from the State Historical Society of Colorado.
