A single drawing, cataloged as a view of a drawbridge in Tokyo with foreign visitors, sets this sheet apart from the woodblock prints around it. Its subject headings place the scene between 1850 and 1900, when Japan was opening its ports and capital to Western travelers after more than two centuries of tight restriction, and the bridges crossing Edo's canals and moats were among the city's most recognizable features. The attribution to Isoda Koryūsai, an Edo ukiyo-e artist active from the 1760s to the 1780s, does not match the 1750 date given, so the date and maker are worth checking before relying on either.
