The Contentnea First Series is a set of 1910 baseball cards issued by the American Tobacco Company, which dominated cigarette sales at the time. Cards like this were packed with tobacco products as a bonus, and many collectors saved them, which is why so many survive from the era. The color relief and halftone printing gives the card a bright, detailed look typical of commercial printing in the early 1900s. It is part of the Benjamin K. Edwards Collection of baseball cards at the Library of Congress.
