The Patterson residence at 15 Dupont Circle sits on one of the capital's most prominent traffic circles, a site that drew wealthy families and the newspaper and society figures who built large townhouses there in the early twentieth century. This glass negative comes from the National Photo Company, a Washington firm that documented the city's buildings and streets from the 1900s through the 1920s, and the record dates it to about 1920 to 1921. The title credits the Fuller Co., whose role at the house is not recorded. The notes warn of streaks and blemishes from deterioration in the original coating, which are worth looking for when viewing the image.
