Taken on October 9, 1924, this glass negative shows a Knights Templar field day, an event where members of the Masonic-affiliated order gathered for drills, parades and public displays of ceremony. The National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C. studio that documented events and people in the early twentieth century, made the image, and Herbert A. French gave it to the Library of Congress in 1947. The title comes from unverified information on the negative or its sleeve, so the exact location is not confirmed. Streaks and blemishes visible on the glass are typical of deterioration in the original coatings.
