A Cleveland-area production of Charles Lecocq's comic operetta *Giroflé-Girofla* is the subject here, announced by the Cuyahoga County Opera Association with the Federal Music Project. Lecocq, a French composer, wrote the work in the 1870s, and its farcical plot of mistaken identities and twin sisters made it a popular choice for touring and amateur companies. The Federal Music Project, part of the Works Progress Administration, employed musicians during the Depression and staged low-cost performances for local audiences. The poster itself is a silkscreen, a technique the WPA's poster program relied on for bold, flat color.
