A student at the wheel of a roadster, with an instructor seated beside them, makes up this c1917 photograph. The car is fitted with dual controls, which let the instructor brake or correct the steering from the passenger seat. Driving schools were still a fairly new idea around 1917, and a second set of controls allowed a teacher to step in quickly when a novice made a mistake. The print carries a copyright notice in the name of the Brisco Motor Corp., but the date and other details come from an old caption card and have not been verified.
