The final championship for model yachts and motor boats on Conservatory Lake, at 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue, gives this poster its particular focus. Printed in silkscreen, a method the WPA poster units in New York used widely, it was sponsored by the city's Department of Parks and urged boat owners to pick up an application at their nearest playground. A date stamp on the back, April 16, 1937, shows it was still in circulation months after the 1936 event it advertised.
