The Orpheum Show poster is distinctive for its billing of two performers, Will M. Cressy and Blanche Dayne, under the direction of Martin Beck, who would go on to build a major vaudeville circuit. Printed in 1900 by the U.S. Printing Company of Cincinnati and New York, the black-and-white lithograph carries the caption "Grasping an opportunity," a phrase that suits a period when vaudeville bills were rotating acts across a growing network of theaters. Posters like this one advertised the touring programs that made the Orpheum name familiar to audiences well beyond its home houses.
