Presenting the Hungarian necromancers Bellac and Aouda as its main draws, this 1895 color lithograph advertises Billy Lester's Big Show. The Donaldson Lithographing Company of Cincinnati printed it for Eugene Wellington, the show's sole proprietor and manager. Traveling variety programs of the 1890s mixed magic, music and novelty acts, and posters like this one were a principal way to announce such a bill to town audiences. The caption spells the name "Bellag," but the subject heading gives "Bellac," which is likely the intended spelling.
