This ink drawing shows the Savoy theater and Hotel Dunlop at the corner of the Boardwalk and Ocean Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey, as a technical plan rather than a view of the street. Dated 1928, it comes from the years when the resort was booming, with oceanfront hotels and movie houses drawing visitors from Philadelphia and New York. Combining a theater and a hotel under one roof made efficient use of expensive beachfront land. The drawing's precise linework records how the builders intended the building to be laid out.
