Four children, Joan, Jimmie Jr., Jean and Jane Davis, sit for this 1926 glass negative, which its title links to Easter and dates to April 5 of that year. The National Photo Company, a commercial studio in Washington, D.C., made the image during the first half of the twentieth century, and the Library of Congress later received its plates as a gift. Glass negatives were the standard medium of that era, and the streaks and blemishes on this one likely come from gradual breakdown of its original coating over time.
